Gender Issues
New User Attribute
I just added "Gender" as a new attribute for users. Don't worry, I assigned everyone's for them, so you don't have to do anything. Feel free to check out your user profile though, in case I screwed something up.
I did this because I was finding it difficult to write automated scripts that have to address or refer to people. I'm building a "Tell a Friend" page right now. Without knowing someone's gender I was forced to write sentences like, "Reed has a new wish list he/she would like you check out. To look at his/her wish list...." I decided that wasn't good enough, so, thus the new gender attribute.

Tell a Friend!
New Utility Added
I put together a page to help you let others know about your wish list. Just click on tell a friend! on the menu to the left and give email addresses of those you would like to let know of your list.
They will receive an email with a short message and a link to your list. You can also add additional comments if you so choose.

Post-Launch Update
Feedback and improvements...
As I expected, some bugs and problems popped up immediately after I sent out my e-mail to everyone about the launch of the site. Unfortunately, I'm out of town at the moment and can't address them, but I will as soon as I get back.
Some of the things that were mentioned:
You log-in with your e-mail address as your username (already put up a note about that on the log-in page)
The built-in list of on-line retailers needs to be better (longer). I'll add a whole bunch as soon as I get back. After I do (or before if you really want) please send me any I've missed that you feel should be on the list. At some point I might have a submittion page for that list.
The confirmation pop-up you get if you try to "claim" something for someone doesn't actually have a message. I'll fix that asap.
There are more, but I think that's enough for now.

Fixes, fixes everywhere
So many bugs... so little time
I'm working hard to make this wishlist site function properly, but every time I think everything's covered, something else pops up.
Recent fixes have included: The signup process, various bugs that arose from tranferring the site from my computer to the host, and many more.
Soon to come:
The keyword/text search thing isn't working since the transfer. I'll repair that as soon as I figure out how to exactly.
I think the site is in need of an "update profile" page so people can do things like change their e-mail address and password.
And there are some interface improvements I'd like to make, but those may be just a little further off.

Upgrade made to the wishlist site
Many small fixes have been made.
I have made a many small bug fixes to make the site more portable. It is now more error-proof... etc...
